The Bumbo

With graduation, Ryan and Tricia's open house, and Will's blessing all in the last weekend, I have a lot that I should post about... but I'm going to have to get to those in another post. Instead I just wanted to show you Will's (and mine) new favorite thing: the Bumbo. Michelle, Belize, and Linda all have one for their kids and now I understand why. Taylor's grandpa gave us one this weekend (Thank you!) and Will loves it. And I like that I can take pictures of him sitting up without having to hold him at the same time. He's still a little wobbly (even with the Bumbo) and he had the hiccups so some of the pictures are blurry, but I posted them anyways.
This one is really blurry, but this look is so Will. The furrowed brow, one eyebrow up, one eyebrow down--so quizzical and serious. He puts on a look like this every time we're around lots of people so everyone always comments on how serious he is. He's really just figuring everything out!
And Taylor and I just thought this was funny. "Who, me?!"

Something to smile about

Actually, there are a few things. First of all, I am so proud of Taylor! He and his business partner recently won the BYU Business Plan Competition, a competition for new ventures started by students. Out of 81 teams, Taylor's company Autobid was picked as one of 8 semi-finalists. These teams presented for a panel of judges, who picked out 3 finalists. These finalists then presented at a huge event on campus in front of students, donors to the Center for Entrepreneurship, possible investors, professors, and another panel of judges. It was so exciting! I got a babysitter and Brooke and I got to sit near the front in the "Friends and Family" seats. Taylor's partner Jordan presented, followed by a short question and answer session with both Jordan and Taylor. They nailed their presentation and it was by far the best! *I'm not biased* Taylor's team not only got FIRST PLACE, they also got this:

Yep! 50,000 DOLLARS! Congratulations Taylor! Will and I are so proud of you!

Speaking of Will, there are so many exciting things going on with our little 10 week old.
First of all, a couple weeks ago he moved out of the bassinet, out of our room (he's such a noisy sleeper...), and into his new crib. After a bit of a rough start (he woke up almost every hour the first night), he's adjusted to the new bed and last night he slept for 10 hours straight! We're hoping it sticks.

And finally, our little boy is full of smiles these days. Sometimes we have to work hard to get one (lots of high voices and repeats of "Can you smile for mommy? Can you smile for daddy?" in baby talk) and sometimes all we have to do is smile at him. Either way, we just can't get enough of this.

Isn't he a cutie?!
