Project 365: THE FINAL WEEK!

Christmas morning!

Will's favorite gift: lots and lots of puzzles.

Emma's favorite gift: her "new blanket" (she still calls it that and it's July) from Aunt Hailey and socks!

And my favorite gift: my new camera lens! I got a Canon EF24-70mm f/2.8. I'd had my eye on it forever and so I set a goal to earn all the money for the lens from all my Fall photoshoots. I met my goal.. and then Taylor gave it to me for Christmas. :) I was very happy.

And that FINALLY (seven months later) is the end of my first Project 365! It is by far the most time consuming New Year's Resolution that I ever set for myself and actually completed but in the end it was worth it. I wasn't perfect (I missed about 30 days total) and some picture days were better than others, but there are so many pictures that I have from 2015 that I will treasure forever. Sweet moments with the kids, all of their unique, silly expressions, and lots of simple memories that I will always have documented. I will probably do this again... but maybe not until next year. :)

Gingerbread houses! Which basically went like this: Will tried to put as many sweets as possible onto his gingerbread house. Emma tried to put as many sweets as possible into her mouth. And Mom and Dad helped with the frosting and eventually had to hide the leftover candy from Emma.

At the very end, Emma started crying. When we asked her what she needed she sniffed sadly and said, "Mo candy."

As part of our family tradition (passed on by my family) Taylor made Christmas Eve dinner. And not just any dinner--he made baked potatoes, broccoli, and homemade chicken cordon bleu. Yep, he's definitely a keeper. And I even managed to enjoy it despite morning sickness.

Another reason Taylor is the greatest husband ever: he took care of all the Christmas presents this year! I was so exhausted and sick from pregnancy all month so he just took care of everything. All I had to do was wrap them and put them underneath our beautiful tree on Christmas Eve.

After dinner we watched the Nativity video on lds.org and used our new African nativity set (from my parents) to enact the story of Christ's birth with the kids. We had actually talked about the story with Will a lot throughout the month so he knew it pretty well, but now thanks to the nativity set I think both kids think that zebras and giraffes were part of the original story :)
