For some reason I can't say no to this girl when she's teething and wants to snuggle at midnight.

Taylor and I decided to reread all the Harry Potter books (for the billionth time). We read it out loud together or take turns reading it when we have time or catching up if one of us falls asleep.

Project 365: Week 24

June 12, 2015
About two weeks before this I decided to come to Utah for one of my best friends Laurel's wedding. We're from the same home stake and we became really good friends my junior year of high school. We went to BYU at the same time, I got married, she went on a mission, and still we keep in touch. I was so glad I got to be a part of her wedding day.

On the other hand, the trip was a weird experience for me. I had no kids, no diaper bags, no nap schedule, no bags full of snacks, no bedtime, no carseats, and absolutely no idea what to do with myself. I expected it to be a completely relaxing vacation but apparently a day and a half is not enough to switch out of mom mode. Luckily, there were plenty of wedding activities and friends to visit to keep me occupied for most of the day.

Since this was my first weekend away by myself
(thank you, Taylor, for watching the kids)
a selfie seemed appropriate.

Happy to be back with my kiddos.

Will has always been a pretty clean little boy. From the time he was Emma's age if he did get dirty he immediately would come up to me, show me his hands or face, and make me clean them.

Emma is not like that. She eats dirt with a fork.

Last fall, some friends gave Will a Batman shirt with a velcro detachable cape. It was really cool and he wore it all the time. One day he wore it to joy school and somehow forgot the cape at their house. Then the family who had hosted joy school moved a couple weeks later and we never saw it again.

Fast forward SIX MONTHS. Will puts on his Batman shirt (that he's worn dozens of times since then) and slowly escalates to a full-on meltdown about not having the cape.

The next day we went to Target and bought a new caped shirt.

He loves it.

My fourth missed day.

Our friends and now neighbors who live down the street gave us a water table they had had for years. We have used it almost every day this summer! Will loves filling up big buckets of water from it and watering the plants. Emma mostly just dips in toys and cups and drinks the water...
