Project 365: Week 25

Quick story: When Taylor and I were newlyweds he decided to run a marathon. He hardly trained and I thought he was an idiot. BUT he was kind of determined to prove that mind over matter would work and sure enough, he finished it. 26.2 miles and he didn't even injure himself in the process. (It probably didn't hurt that he ran it pretty slowly and he was 23 so his body could handle pretty much anything back then.)

Fast forward to the next year and he decides he should do it again! But this time he actually trained (a little...well, at least a little more than the last time). He made it to mile 19, his legs completely locked up and he thought, "Eh. I've already finished a marathon before and I've got nothing to prove. I'm done with this." He hopped on the shuttle and went to the finish line (where I was really surprised to see him so soon).

Well, that's kind of how this year's Project 365 is turning out. I did one in 2015 that I didn't miss a single day until May and only missed about 30 days the whole year (90%---not too shabby) and when I finally finished sorting through and editing all the pictures it was almost 2017. It was a BIG project and I was really proud of myself for finishing it. But this year has been different. I missed my first day in January--JANUARY--and have been really inconsistent for most of the year. So, I'm not calling it a 365 anymore. I've still got a few weeks to share and I'll still be taking lots of pictures this year, but it'll be more of a Project 180, or a Project 2-or-3-times-a-week kind of thing. :) But I'm still glad I started it. I love having so many pictures of my kids. I love getting better at photography and the freedom I have playing around with lighting and composition at home. And who knows, maybe in a couple years I'll get the itch to do it again and not think "Eh. I've already done one" halfway through the year.

So here's the three days I completed in this week in June:

Monday 6/12/17
Will in our tree with his "Batman mask" (made of rainbow loom bands of course).

Project 365: Week 23

Monday 5/29/17
Will's new favorite hobby: rainbow loom bracelets. One of our friends gave him some to make his own and he was SO excited when I told him he could use his money (from chores, etc.) to buy more! He stocked up on new colors and clasps the day before we headed to St. George for a Moss reunion and while we were there he made rings and/or bracelets for every single family member. Since then he's made belts, dog leashes (for stuffed animals), armor (LOTS of bracelets on each arm), and pretty much whatever he can think of. It's a fun hobby (and he loves getting to make stuff for other people, which is so sweet) but I can't tell you how many times I've had to pull those little rubber bands out of Luke's mouth in the past month or so...

Wednesday 5/31/17
My cousin's baby girls!

Thursday 6/1/17

Saturday 6/3/17
Popsicles at Grandma's house.

Project 365: Week 20

Thursday 5/11/17
I've had a lot of newborn sessions this year and I love them more and more every time! Especially when the mom and family join in.

Friday 5/12/17
I also got to do something new! I photographed this incredible beach house in Malibu for the construction company that renovated it. I won't show all of them, but pretty amazing view from the master bedroom, right??

Saturday 5/13/17
They went to a birthday party where they did face paint and they have both decided (and told me dozens of times) that they want to have face paint at their next birthday parties.
