Memorial Day Weekend

We have had a busy couple of weeks! First, Taylor's brother graduated from high school so we went to St. George and stayed with Taylor's family for a couple of days. At graduation, although I was out with Will, Garrett signed while the choir sang "The Prayer." I heard he did a wonderful job and I'm sad I missed it. But we're proud of him and we're excited for him to start school at UVU in the Fall. Congratulations Garrett!

Besides graduation, we had an epic family game of soccer (apparently we're all not very good...) with Taylor's brothers, Uncle Josh, and Hailey, saw The Avengers movie (again), and enjoyed the nice HOT weather in St. George. Then, on to California.

We had our first real dose of traveling with a baby. First, we had to stop every 2-3 hours to feed Will. As the day got hotter, we tried to find shade to park in while I fed him (a pretty difficult task in the desert). After a few hours in the car, Will couldn't take any more solitude. We tried to stop and play with him for a while, hoped he would fall asleep, talked to him from the front seat (it was worth a shot right?), and finally I accepted my fate of sitting in the back seat next to him for the rest of the drive. Things could have been worse, but it still made for a long day. We were happy to finally get to my parents' house.

We spent Memorial Day weekend enjoying the trails at Chesebro Park, eating yummy food from Neptune's Net, Wood Ranch and Trader Joe's, lounging by the pool and looking at different places to live. (Yes, we are moving. Taylor's business got accepted into a 4-month startup accelerator program in Santa Monica and we decided to go with it!) My mom also threw me a baby shower so my friends and all the women from church could come meet Will. The food was delicious (homemade quiche and pain au chocolat), it was a beautiful day, and Will was obviously a big hit :) even though he ended up sleeping for the first hour or so of the shower.

And of course, it wouldn't be a trip to LA without a Dodger game! Will's first one! It has pretty much been Taylor's lifelong dream to take his son to a Dodger game--he was so excited. We even found a little Dodger sweatshirt on amazon.com for him to wear. We tried to find him a hat, but the smallest "hat" they had was a souvenir ice cream bowl. I don't think he was too thrilled about us trying it on.

We are officially a family a Dodger fans.

My mom and dad loved having some one-on-one time with their grandson. They have so many now! As my mom says, now that they're empty nesters she can be a professional grandma! It was so fun for us to spend time with them as well. We're excited to live so close to them again.

Will was such a trooper. Despite naps in the car and bedtimes all over the place during our vacation, he just learned to sleep where he was. At the Dodger game we kept him out way past his bedtime, so he only made it through the first two innings. Poor little guy was worn out!
