Baby's First Haircut

Will really needed a haircut. We were trying to hold off until his first birthday for sentimental reasons (and because I was scared to cut it myself)... but then sentimental became impractical. Will's long hair was always getting matted together with food (because Will would run his fingers through it while eating...), he got major bedhead after every nap (and when you nap twice a day it never really goes away), and it even got to the point where random strangers I met in the grocery store weren't sure if he was a boy or girl. Yep, it was time.

So, as recommended by a friend, I put on a movie to distract him and planned on just taking my time, taking little snips here and there until it was all trimmed. Yeah... didn't exactly happen that way.

1. Scissors are more interesting than any movie.
2. Will never just "sits" for longer than 3 minutes unless he's asleep. There are too many things to do, see, climb on, grab, or stick in his mouth.
3. After a certain number of cuts that were a little shorter than you meant because your baby moved his head... it's time to give up and buzz the whole thing.

So I did. It can always grow back, right?
He's still a happy, silly boy.
And now he matches daddy.

On a side note, this is what happens when church changes from the morning to the afternoon.
He woke up when we took him out of the car but was already falling asleep again (while being carried upright) before we made it to our front door. Someday naps won't be an issue...
