1. Will's pronunciation of Emma has transformed from "Abby" to "Eh-wee". That's also how he pronounces cousin Ellie's name. We try to tell him EM-MA, but he insists on "Eh-wee". Last night he said "Emmy" but then when we praised him he corrected himself and said "Eh-wee".
2. When we put the kids to bed 2 nights ago, right after we said prayers, he said, "Eh-wee!", jumped out of bed, climbed up on Emma's crib so he could see her, blew her a kiss and went to back to bed.
3. Yesterday I tried to get him to eat yogurt (normally he likes it but yesterday he didn't want it) by trying the old, "Look Will, it's an airplane!" trick and making airplane sounds as I flew the spoon towards his mouth. His eyes lit up and for a second I thought it was going to work! Excited and smiling, he grabbed the spoon, made airplane noises, then said "Crash!" as he rammed the spoon onto the tray of his high chair. Will: 1 Mom: 0.
4. His favorite book is "A Fish Out of Water". He calls it "Sash!" (Splash) and asks for it every time we put him to bed. I usually read it for nap time but it's a long book so we try to convince him to have other books read at night.
5. Will loves peanut butter sandwiches. He "helps" me make one everyday for lunch. He gets his bucket that he stands on in the kitchen, grabs one of his plastic knives from the drawer, opens the pantry and tells me to get the peanut butter ("Pah Bah") off the shelf, makes me open the fridge so he can get the jam, and then he (usually) lets me help spread them on the bread and cut the sandwich in half. It takes twice as long to make a sandwich but you've got to start learning independence somewhere, right?
6. Speaking of independence, Will has become a wanderer. It is actually a big problem. He tries to wander away in the parking lot, the store, the park, anywhere. It's like he has no fear. Unless he sees a dog or a stranger, then he comes back and attaches himself to me. We're working on it. He use to flat out run away, now he walks but still goes wherever he wants, even when I tell him to stop.
7. His favorite thing to do is to listen to music and look at pictures of himself or Emma on the computer. We love listening to Disney's "Frozen" soundtrack. When we listen to "Let It Go" he sings (yells), "Ah DOE! Ah DOE!" At the end of every song he looks at me and says, "Mazing!" (amazing) because I said that once after a song and apparently it stuck.
8. Will is going to be my personal trainer. When we go for walks or runs, if Taylor or I are not pushing the stroller fast enough he yells, "Weady? DOE!" (Ready? Go!) until we go fast.
9. Will loves to give kisses. Sometimes he grabs your face with both hands and gives you a kiss. Often they are open mouth kisses, right on the lips. He also loves to give Emma kisses.
10. His favorite number is 2. Actually, his ONLY number is 2. The answer to any question starting with "How many...?" is 2. Lucky for him most things come in sets of 2: eyes, feet, hands, ears, elbows (his favorite body part to say), a peanut butter sandwich cut in half just so he can have 2, the number of cars he can hold at once (one in each hand), and it doesn't hurt that he's also 2 years old.
