Emma's Birthday (Continued...)

If you haven't noticed I've been going a little crazy with picture editing and blogging. I have a couple New Year's Resolutions about that and seeing as I just made those resolutions last week, I'm still feeling extremely motivated.

Since it was Emma's first birthday, eventually the parental guilt to throw a birthday party worked it's magic and we decided at the last minute to have a party for Emma with our friends. Basically the plan was a park day (with cake) for anyone who wanted to join us. We lucked out with gorgeous weather and had a delicious chocolate cake and a mini lemon cake for Emma to smash (again). Unfortunately, due to our poor planning, last minute invitations and the fact that it was the weekend before Thanksgiving everyone was either already busy or already out of town. But Rachel Cox came with her son Jameson and right as we were leaving Katy Stephens came with her son Jeremy and we all had a wonderful day at the park! Will rode his bike, Emma played with some blocks we brought and chewed on all the wood chips she could find, and the kids couldn't get enough of the swings.

Emma's second cake smash was not as successful as her first. She was much more interested in the wood chips on the ground. (Are you seeing a pattern?)

...but decided she didn't care and crawled away.

Will, on the other hand, enjoyed his 3rd day of cake in a week. Needless to say he really likes birthdays and can't wait for his own. (He even knows when it is: "Janawary firty-first!")
